Gauge 1 Live Steam

The Gauge 1 Model Railway Association will again be hosing the event and will be presenting a stand at the event. The group will have the Gauge 1 exhibition layout with them, The Association are expecting to be running trains on the layout throughout the event. The club was established in the 1940's and has since grown to become a world wide organisation. This year the display will feature the clubs show case layout:- "Dobson Bridge" along with live steam models along with radio controlled model trains.

THIS will be my 2nd Talk, at the Big Model Hobby Show. I will be giving presentations of around 45 minutes along with Keith Hick, though out the day, entitled:- "Rocketfan."

This will be more of a nostalgic trip, looking at the era between 1960s to 2014, on Aindale and Southport beaches. I will also chat about what influenced us, with lots of pretty of non-technical information, but we will also provide some technical information as well.

My talk will have 3 elements:-

Several of the scale models which survived, a hobby which can be crash happy

Examples of the rocket engines which powered these.

Film of some of the launching off Ainsdale beach, which resulted in flights up to 2,500 feet.

At the event, I will also provide those attending with background information, along with exhibiting some of the model rockets. We promise all displayed engines have been deactivated!
